Police were alerted just after 8pm on Saturday 15 November that a man had climbed a crane on a commercial building site on the corner of King William Street and Gilbert Street, Adelaide.

Police called in STAR Group and police negotiators to persuade the man, who was at least 20 storeys off the ground, to climb down safely.

Negotiators did an excellent job to engage with the man for hours and were able to bring about a safe resolution when he climbed down around 4.30am.

The 19-year-old Hackham West man was arrested and taken to hospital by ambulance for assessment.  He is expected to be charged with trespass and obstructing a public place.

On Friday 14 November, police searched a house in South Plympton. During the search, police located a loaded 0.22 calibre 3D printed pistol with a magazine containing six rounds, over $120,000 in cash, approximately 0.5kg of methamphetamine and approximately 400g of cocaine.

Two vehicles were also seized by investigators, in addition to further evidence of drug trafficking.

A 33-year-old man from Coober Pedy, a 31-year-old woman from Coober Pedy and a 33-year-old man from Beachport were arrested and charged with multiple offences including possess an unregistered firearm, knowingly engage in money laundering and traffic in a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug.

The arrested men did not apply for bail, and the woman was refused police bail.  They will all appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday 17 November.

Onkaparinga River in Old Noarlunga 30 kilometres South of Adelaide in the Onkaparinga Hills

Issued for OLD NOARLUNGA near Onkaparinga River Conservation Park in the Onkaparinga Hills 30 kilometres South of Adelaide.

The CFS advises people in and around the area of Old Noarlunga and the Onkaparinga Hills, that CFS and MFS crews are working to extinguish a slow moving grass fire.

The fire is causing smoke which may drift over roads and members of the community are urged to take care, particularly if driving.

To ensure your safety and that of firefighters and other emergency personnel who are working in the area, please do not enter the area unless necessary..

Around 10.30am Saturday 15 November, patrols were called to Park Terrace after an observant member of the public spotted a black safe in some bushes.

Police found the Sandleford combination safe which had significant damage. Officers looked inside and uncovered a gold necklace with a pink gem pendant (pictured).

Police believe the safe and necklace are stolen and are hoping to return these items to their rightful owners.

A vibrant line up of free public activations is planned to encourage residents and visitors to shop, dine, and be entertained as part of the City of Greater Bendigo’s Christmas Love your Local campaign.

Mayor Cr Thomas Prince said the program of free activations will play an important role in supporting local businesses in the lead up to Christmas.

“As the countdown to Christmas begins, the City of Greater Bendigo is excited to announce a series of free public activations as part of a Love your Local campaign. This initiative encourages everyone to enjoy free festive entertainment, shop, dine, and support locally owned businesses wherever possible,” Cr Prince said.

“Greater Bendigo boasts an incredible mix of retailers, eateries, producers, makers, suppliers, and attractions ready to make your Christmas truly special. When you shop locally, you’re helping businesses to thrive and create new job opportunities. Local businesses bring vibrancy to our streets and precincts, so keeping shoppers’ spending in the region makes a real difference.”

The City will also promote a new Love your Local Christmas campaign across radio, print and social media platforms to encourage shoppers to spend locally. 

City activations and other community event highlights:

• The Bendigo Art Collective Artists Market is on tomorrow, Saturday November 15 from 12pm to 4pm. The market will feature an open-air gallery, live artists’ demonstrations, art activities for all ages and craft goodies. This event has been made possible through the City Centre Community Activations Grant Program
• Bit Sketchi Bendigo hosted its second of five free events as part of the City’s Community Activations Grants program at Dai Gum San precinct today, November 14. The fully booked event invited people to draw and paint quick sketches with local artist Kim Lowe from 2inspire

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested multiple youths in relation to aggravated robberies in Darwin overnight.

Around 6:30pm, police received reports that 3 female youths had entered a bottle shop on Leanyer Drive and threatened an employee with a knife, damaged stock and fled the scene.

A short time later, the same offenders are alleged to have stopped a vehicle on Grassland Crescent, Leanyer, and attempted to steal it.  The female driver was dragged out of the vehicle by the offenders, suffering minor injuries.

The victim was able to defend herself with the offenders fleeing the scene on foot with her mobile phone.

Casuarina general duties and officers from Strike Force Trident deployed to the area and arrested 3 females aged 12, 13 and 14, while also recovering the stolen phone. The youths remain in custody with charges expected later today.

In an unrelated incident at around 8:15pm, police also received a report that a male youth had entered a service station on Bagot Road, Ludmilla, armed with a knife. He threatened an employee before stealing a quantity of cash and fleeing the scene on foot.

Strike Force Trident are continuing to investigate the incidents.

Drivers caught speeding and driving under the influence during targeted traffic operations in North-West

Saturday, 15 November 2025 – 10:21 am.

Western Road Policing Services targeted the fatal five during traffic operations at Devonport and Ridgley between 4.00pm and 9.00pm on Friday afternoon (14 November).
During the operations, police detected 11 speeding drivers, one drink driver, and an L-plater that was speeding while under the influence of illicit drugs.
Acting Inspector Adam Starr said a 28-year-old man from Penguin was caught travelling 106km/h on Hillcrest Road in Devonport which is 56km/h over the sign-posted speed limit.
“He was disqualified from driving for six months and was issued a fine over $1100.
“A 43-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were also caught travelling 23km/h and 30km/h over the signposted limit, and a 19-year-old male L-plater from Devonport was caught speeding, driving under the influence of an illicit substance and failing to display their ‘L’ plates.
“During the same period, two other drivers, a 33-year-old woman and 19-year-old woman, were caught travelling 30km/h over the signposted limit on the Ridgley Highway at Ridgely with one being a provisional licence holder,” he said.
A 52-year-old Devonport man also returned a breath alcohol reading of 0.119 when he was subjected to a road-side breath test in Devonport.
Acting Inspector Starr said the safety of the community is a priority for Tasmania Police, and these driving behaviours place members within our community at an increased risk.
“Speeding and driving under the influence are two significant factors that result in serious crashes on our roads, and police are out every day enforcing these, and other road rules, in order to keep all road users safe.”
Anyone who witnesses dangerous driving behaviour on our roads should report it when safe to do so to police on 131 444.

Emergency services responded to a crash between a Toyota van and Toyota ute at the intersection of King Road and Penfield Road, Virginia just after 11am on Sunday 5 October.

A six-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the van, was taken to hospital in a critical condition. Sadly, she died in hospital on Friday 10 October.

The driver of the van, a 42-year-old Murray Bridge woman, and two other children, aged 11 and 10, were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The occupants of the ute, a 37-year-old Virginia man and a four-year-old girl, were both taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Major Crash investigators attended to examine the scene.

On Tuesday 14 October, the driver of the van was arrested and charged with one count of cause death by dangerous driving and four counts of cause harm by dangerous driving and issued an immediate loss of licence notice.

She was bailed to appear before the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 25 November.

The young girl’s death is the 69^th life lost on SA roads this year.

Just after 11pm last night, Friday 14 November, police were called to reports of a two-car collision on Wilpena Terrace where a Suzuki hatch had crashed into a parked Toyota sedan at low speed.

Police identified the driver and an alcohol screening test was carried out. The driver was found not to be under the influence.

No-one was injured and the cause of the collision was established as driver fatigue.

A 22-year-old Kilkenny man was received an expiation notice for failing to keep proper control of his vehicle.

The collision occurred at 1.30am on Saturday 15 November, blocking both northbound lanes of Main North Road, Enfield, just north of Barton Street.

The Mazda SUV rolled onto its roof and all airbags deployed.

The driver, a 68-year-old Clearview man, was lucky to escape any serious injury and did not require medical treatment.

The Toyota sedan also sustained damage and both vehicles were towed from the scene.

The road is now clear.
