ACT Policing is seeking to speak with multiple witnesses to a graffiti incident that occurred in an accessible bathroom of the South.Point shopping centre in Greenway in June.

On the evening of Thursday 19 June (2025) police were called to a public accessible bathroom at the South.Point shopping centre after distinctive graffiti was discovered there.

Police have charged two people in relation to the graffiti and would now like to speak with witnesses who observed the incident.

A review of CCTV has identified at least four groups of people who would have seen the graffiti on the Thursday in June.

An 18-year-old man will face the Children’s Court today (Monday 4 August 2025) following a police investigation in relation to a home invasion in Conder earlier this year.

Police also allege a neighbour who came to assist was struck with a baseball bat before the group fled the scene in stolen cars.

The man will face charges of riding in a motor vehicle without consent, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, possess offensive weapon with intent, damage property, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, take motor vehicle without consent and knowingly concerned fail to stop.

This is the third person charged in relation to the home invasion, after a 24-year-old woman faced court in February and an 18-year-old man faced court in July this year for their involvement in the incident.

A 40-year-old Fadden woman has had her licence immediately suspended and will face court after returning a breath alcohol content reading more than six times the legal limit this morning.

About 8:40am today (Friday 1 August 2025) a silver Mazda 3 was allegedly driving erratically northbound on the Monaro Highway before colliding into a black ute on the offramp near Canberra Avenue in Narrabundah.

Police attended the scene and the female driver of the silver Mazda 3 returned a positive breath screening test.

She was taken into custody where she later returned a breath analysis result of 0.331.

The woman was issued with an immediate suspension notice and will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date to face a high range drink driving charge and possible other charges.

Detective Sergeant Dave Lawler said that it is disappointing to see an incident like this happen, especially as ACT Police are targeting impaired driving this month.

“We are only eight hours into our impaired driving focus for August, so it is really discouraging to see this level of drink driving occur” Det. Sgt Lawler said.

“I want to remind everyone that it is never okay to drink and drive –any time of the day or night.”

A 28-year-old Taylor man has been charged after allegedly choking and assaulting his partner and her dog.

On Tuesday (29 July 2025) night, the man allegedly assaulted his partner at their residence, slapping her multiple times.

In the early hours of Wednesday morning (30 July 2025), the man allegedly grabbed the woman by her throat and choked her on two occasions.

That night, the man allegedly also struck the woman’s dog and threatened to kill it by throwing it off the balcony.

The incidents were reported to police and about 8pm last night (Wednesday 30 July 2025) the man was arrested.

He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Thursday 31 July 2025) charged with two counts of aggravated common assault, two counts of chokes, suffocates, strangles another person, aggravated damage property and cruelty to animals.

A 29-year-old Hawker man has been charged with aggravated robbery and multiple knife offences after allegedly attempting to rob a bottle shop in Belconnen.

About 3pm yesterday afternoon (Monday 11 August 2025) the man entered a Belconnen bottle shop and then left with a stolen item.

Two loss prevention officers followed the man and asked for the stolen item to be returned. The man then allegedly pulled out a knife and threatened the two men, on two occasions.

Police were called and located the man a short time later, where he was placed under arrest.

A subsequent search of the man revealed he was in possession of 14 knives in a duffle bag, and two knives within his clothing.

He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Tuesday 12 August 2025) charged with aggravated robbery, possess offensive weapon with intent and 15 counts of possess knife without reasonable excuse.
